A place to talk about all the aspects of my unwired life.

Welcome!

Brian at the MysteryWelcome to not so wired (dot) info, a place for me to discuss the unwired part of my life. Although I do spend much of my time jacked in to the 'net (as a full time geek for pay), I do have a full and healthy unwired life, and that's what this site is about. (I am, afterall, a geek and not a nerd.)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

admin — Thu, 12/21/2006 - 12:45pm

Santa at StarbucksSo here I was, just sitting at my local Starbucks, minding my own business, surfing the web and reading my email. When you'll never believe who came in for coffee.. I guess it's pretty cold at the north pole, but surely there are closer places to get coffee. But then again, if you have a sleigh and flying reindeer, distance isn't really a concern.

I haven't really been into the Christmas spirit this year. There's been too much going on at work to really think about it. But the Christmas Spirit is alive and well in southern california and this unexpected visit from Santa provies it.

Inner Bear

admin — Mon, 11/27/2006 - 9:29pm

I've finally embraced my inner bear. Check me out: http://www.bear411.com/lkwdbrian I don't know if it's a good thing or not. It's part of the quest to figure out who I am and where I fit in the gay community. You'd think by now I'd have figured it out already. I'm definitely not a twink. Never have been, and never will. I'm not a jock (don't like watching sports and HATE playing them). I don't make enough money working in public service to be an A-Gay. No where near hairy enough to be a bear. (Is there such a thing as a bare bear?) Not dominant enough to be a Master nor submissive enough to be a slave.

An Endangered Specie?

brianlc — Mon, 11/13/2006 - 9:15pm

An Endangered Specie?Ben and I spent the day Sunday at the Wild Animal Park in San Diego where we saw many different kinds of animals, unfortunately most of them are on the endangered species list. The good news is that thanks to the work of the San Diego Zoological Society and affiliated organizations the populations of many of these endangered species is growing. There are now nearly 300 California Condor's in the world and there have been more than 50 rhino's born at the Park.

Yahoo Time Capsule

brianlc — Tue, 10/31/2006 - 10:40pm

I submitted a tile to the Yahoo Time Capsule, a project by artist Jonathan Harris. The goal is to capture a slice of our digital life and preserve it at the Smithsonian in Washington DC. Check out my tile before November 8 at Brian's Tile.

In case you're reading this after November 8, here's the contents of the tile: From a male in Lakewood CA, United States: This is a picture of Ben and I that was taken on our cruise to Mexico. I spent the first 34 years of my life looking and waiting for him, I'm spending the rest of my life loving him.

We stopped by Disneyland after church today and met up with our friends Bruce, Russel, and Vito. We had a great time riding on the Carousel.

Snow White's Wishing Well

brianlc — Fri, 10/27/2006 - 9:09pm

Snow White's Wishing WellThe Wishing Well is one of my favorite places at Disneyland. As you can see in the picture, there are statues of Snow White and the seven dwarfs arranged in a little grotto overlooking the wishing well. Every few minutes throughout the day, you can hear Snow White singing "I'm Wishing".

I'd love to be able to say that it was here, while listening to Snow White wishing for the one she'd love, that I looked across the well and my eyes met the one I love. But alas, it wasn't here, it was several hundred yards away in Frontierland, in front of Big Thunder Ranch, where I first met the one I love. Although we do credit the magic of Disney for bringing us together. He even says that Disney had to build a new theme park so that we could meet.

More Halloween Pictures at Disneyland

brianlc — Fri, 10/27/2006 - 9:09pm

Little Green ManI love Disneyland! and I love HalloweenTime at Disneyland. There is an extremely talented pumpkin carver working at Woody's Halloween Roundup at Big Thunder Ranch. I'm lucky if my pumpkins even remotely resemble a face when I'm done carving much less a little green man from Pizza Planet.
